Fruitful Joy

Working to be fruitful, to bear fruit, and to share fruit…
Today at work I heard a sad but joyful story. A woman had to take her daughter to court in order to take custody of her 4 year old granddaughter. The daughter has addiction problems, repeatedly gets into relationships in which she is battered, is currently living out of her car because she has no money, and hasn’t seen her daughter much in the past 9 months – but she has continued to create an awful situation for the grandmother, until finally they went to court.
The court ruled in the grandmother’s favor. The little grandbaby, age 4, rarely asks for her mother, and this weekend she said to her grandmother, “Nanny, you are always here helping me. Thank you. I love you.”
I pray that the child’s mother comes to Christ, can overcome her addictions, and becomes the woman He would have her be. I pray that the grandmother has the wisdom and strength to raise her granddaughter in Christ’s name in her godly home. And I pray that we all can feel the joy of someone caring for us – Christ’s love for us – like the little girl’s Nanny.
Sharing here today…
and here…

Visiting from Soli Deo Gloria. Addiction steals from people, doesn’t it? So glad that Grandmother is there to step in. As you said, sad but joyful.
It truly does. Thank you for stopping by.
Oh, goodness. This is heartbreaking. Praying for this family today, Lori. And others challenged by these struggles.
Thank you so much, what a blessing.
